Work Experience

The Management School provides opportunities to undertake a 60 Hour Project which is a short business project within local companies over the Easter holidays. In order to ensure these opportunities are accessible, we provide an enabling bursary to students who are successfully matched to a project through a competitive recruitment process. This bursary can be used to pay for childcare, professional clothing and travel etc. Our External Relations team work tirelessly to engage businesses across the region and support our clients to scope short but meaningful projects around real word challenges or opportunities they are working on.

The University of Sheffield internship programme offers the chance to complete a 35 or 70 hour internship with an academic or professional service department within the university.

The internships are open to final year undergraduate and postgraduate taught students to apply for and will provide you with valuable work experience and skills development opportunities to help transition into the world of work and prepare you for future employment.

The SME Summer Internship Programme allows eligible students to undertake a paid summer internship with SMEs and charities in the Sheffield City Region.

You can find out more about the programme here.

Virtual work experience is completed digitally rather than in person and gives you the opportunity to complete an internship from home. Having flexible working options is a priority for many, being able to choose from a wider range of internships, locally and internationally. This is a fantastic way to gain experience and try out different sectors before you apply.
