About the company

Customer Support and Services (CSS) is the MBDA customer focused and customer facing organisation working with the RAF/Army/Royal Navy ensuring our products are ready for action when required. CSS Supportability engineers are part of the development Project Teams ensuring the ability to maintain our products is considered throughout the design process and the user is equipped with training, manuals and support equipment to enable them to do their job. CSS Support Engineers work with our customers to take that work forward into the in service phase ensuring the weapon systems we supply are available when required by providing technical support and assistance including deploying Field Support Engineers to deliver expertise where needed.

About the role

The diverse nature of CSS means that there is the opportunity to work in very different roles and gain a broad understanding of the company, its products and our customers. From designing and developing the support solution, using system expertise to investigate and resolve customer raised problem reports, delivering specific engineering tasks, running equipment workshops with RAF/Army/Royal Navy Users, developing technical publications and training through to assisting in repairs whether on-ship, at Customer premises or back at MBDA, there are plenty of chances to get out of the office and hands-on with equipment!

Requirements

This role is for you if you are currently studying towards a degree in physics, engineering, mathematics or a related subject and have an interest in the lifecycle of products. The 10 month placement will be in one of the projects in CSS. If would also suit someone that enjoys solving challenging problems and working with people from different disciplines and backgrounds.
